05 July 2013 Honeybun is in the process of changing to Raw Diet

Been planning on changing Honeybun to Raw Diet for a really long time, but need to do it slowly to avoid digesting issues. I supposed to only give him one supplement only - “Probiotics” to get some good bacterials into his stomach for Raw Diet, but decided to also give him the rest of the supplements as well, because I already reduced his dry food and replaced with Raw.
Honeybun is now on half dry and half raw. I will continue to reduce his dry food and gradually add more and more raw, eventually replace everything to raw only.
He also get chicken necks or lamb neck as treat now, he loves them. I actually feed him more food than he supposed to have, but once he is on pure raw diet, I will monitor his body to make adjustments.
He is now doing really well adjusting to raw, no more diarrhea.

  1. I have been raw feeding my lands see newf Abby for over a year with great results. She is trim and not as stinky! I recently read about a breeder whose Newfs regularly live to the age of 17...raw diet, as few vaccinations as possible (super important!!) and regular chiropractic adjustments. Only one dog died early of heart disease, the rest are mobile up until the day they die at ripe old age of 17!

    1. Welcome to Honeybun's blog Whitney.
Honeybun has been on raw for quite a while already and I am loving it.
He is on the most balanced and natural diet, so we don't do worms tablets or vaccinations regularly, instead we take him to the vet once a year to have a blood test done to see his level of vaccine, if is still above average then he will not have vaccination done, we rather spend extra money to check prior than inject something that he doesn't need, too much vaccine harm animals. Honeybun is strong, fit, healthy and happy.... :)
